Removal and installation [2.4L] 1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal first, then the positive terminal. Tightening torque : 7.8 ~ 9.8N.m (0.8 ~ 1.0kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 7.2lb-ft) 2. Tightening torque : 49.0 ~ 63.7N.m (5.0 ~ 6.5kgf.m, 36.2 ~ 47.0lb-ft)

Installation is the reverse order of removal.

1.
Disconnect the battery negative terminal first, then the positive terminal.
Tightening torque :
7.8 ~ 9.8N.m (0.8 ~ 1.0kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 7.2lb-ft)

Remove the engine cover.
3.
Disconnect the alternator connector (A) and the cable (B) from the 'B' terminal.

To release the tension, turn the drive belt tensioner counterclockwise then remove the drive belt (A).

Remove the alternator (A).
Tightening torque :
26.5 ~ 33.3 N.m (2.7 ~ 3.4 kgf.m, 19.5 ~ 24.6 lb-ft)

Installation is reverse order of removal.

Do not disassemble the Lambda 3.5L engine alternator. The alternator inner parts will not be supplied. A faulty occurs, inspect charging system first. If necessary, replace the alternator assembly.

Loosen the nuts (B) and then remove the cover (A).

Loosen the mounting bolts (A) and remove the regulator assembly (B).

Using the SST (09373-27000), remove the pulley (A).

Loosen the 4 through bolts (A) and then remove the rear housing with the rectifier by loosen the clamping wires.

Disconnect the rotor (A) and the housing (B).

Reassembly is the reverse order of disassembly.


Do not disassemble the alternator.
Replace it if necessary.
